Mimi had overheard us say how much my mom loved bananas and ice cream. During the next shift, Mimi brought my mom a banana milkshake, even though she wasn't assigned to our care that night; she went out of her way to do this for her.
Mimi has been a dedicated nurse since 1998, with a particular passion for critical care. She finds immense fulfillment in providing care to patients and their families, which has only deepened her commitment to helping others.
An invaluable member of her team, Mimi has consistently worked diligently to deliver direct care to her patients while supporting the ICU team during her shifts. Her positive influence on patient outcomes is evident as she always strives to do what is best for her patients.
Mimi wholeheartedly believes that as nurses, we have a duty to care for our patients as if they were our own family. She is also dedicated to guiding the next generation of nurses to uphold this same philosophy. As an exceptional preceptor, Mimi demonstrates patience, kindness, and understanding. Mimi takes the initiative to exceed the expectations of her role by mentoring her colleagues and offering assistance wherever needed.

After my mother underwent a lengthy surgery, she was moved to the ICU, where Mimi took care of her. To say I was terrified would be an understatement. However, Mimi provided immense comfort and thoroughly explained everything to me. While I waited in the waiting room, I heard a Code Blue announcement overhead, and I was fearful that it was my mom. Shortly after, Mimi called me to reassure me that my mom was fine and recovering well.
Later, my mom was not eating well. Mimi had overheard us say how much my mom loved bananas and ice cream. During the next shift, Mimi brought my mom a banana milkshake, even though she wasn't assigned to our care that night; she went out of her way to do this for her.
To celebrate the New Year, Mimi placed a festive headband on my mom, which brought a huge smile to her face. Mimi took a photo and sent it to me, and my heart soared at the sight of my mom's joyful expression. I am incredibly grateful for everything Mimi did for us. She truly is an outstanding nurse.
