When he was in her care, it felt like I was leaving him with a trusted family member.
There are not enough kind words I could say about Minelva. She was my son’s primary nurse for the 10 weeks he was in the NICU. The hardest part about having a baby in the NICU is having to leave them at night. When Minelva was there, I had less fear about leaving him. I knew he was in good care. Minelva was a teacher to me as well. She would explain everything to me and stay way past her shift was over to answer my questions. She would tell me what each number on the screen meant, what each medication did, and how the machines worked. The night my son got an infection, she was there to comfort me. She was there every step of the way – such a HUGE part of his NICU journey.
When he was in her care, it felt like I was leaving him with a trusted family member. She was someone who took care of him as a person and not just a patient. I will always remember Minelva, and someday, I will tell my son about his nurse who made him better.
Compassionate, affectionate, caring, and very knowledgeable. Whenever she has my son, I sleep better because I know he’s cared. Really appreciate her dedication and hard work. Very grateful to have a nurse like Minelva.
