I am writing this letter to express my gratitude for the wonderful care that was given to my son, while he was a patient in the east wing of your floor. He was admitted to your facility through the emergency room and stayed in your hospital for a little more than a month. While he was there my husband and I would stay with him to manage his daily needs with the help of your skilled and extremely kind staff. Because my son is intellectually disabled he is incapable of understanding how important it is to allow the doctors, nurses, therapists, and techs to examine him, give him his medicine and do treatments and daily hygiene routines, so his father and I were there not only as his parents who love him but as his advocates in the best care possible for him. Your team of caregivers were very understanding and accommodating in helping us with that task. I want to especially thank her, for her professionalism and competence when he was going through the toughest part of his illness. She went the extra mile to get the ultrasound team together early in the evening, after hours, in order to drain the fluid that had built up in his lungs. Because of that effort my son was able to have a good night's sleep because while she was arranging for that procedure she was also calling in the Cardiac Surgical team to get him into surgery the next day in order to install a window to help drain the fluid that had built up around his heart. When my son came back the evening before the surgery, he was able to sleep peacefully and be ready for the cardiac surgery he was going to go through the next morning. She is a wonderful nurse who cares deeply about her patients and she goes above and beyond the call of duty to make not only the sick person comfortable but to also provide any help the patient's family needs to care for them. She was kind and patient with me in all the questions that I had and provided me with a means to understand what was going on from each of the specialists that were involved in my son's care. She is a wonderful asset to your team and works very hard to give the care that is needed in any way possible for the comfort of the patient. She takes their care to the highest level that can be achieved in order to get them healthy again.
