What we initially thought would be a quick ER visit turned into scheduling her for surgery the next day to remove the tumor in her abdomen. It was a diagnosis that shook us all. The MVP of our stay was Miranda! She had the hardest shift with us, which was post-op.

As a mother the last thing you want to see is your child in pain. As her mother, I tried advocating for pain control the best I could, and it was Miranda who stayed professional and kind. I was desperate in relieving my baby girls' pain and Miranda kindly helped us come up with a schedule for pain control. I was having a hard time remembering when the medications were given, and she helped me by writing them down on the dry erase board.

As I am writing this story, I can't help but to show so much appreciation for her. I have been living in what felt like a brain fog and Miranda went above and beyond in assuring me that it will be okay, and we will be able to do this together. It is not an easy profession, but her compassion will never be forgotten! The way she delivered information was only accomplished, because she recognized I am a visual learner.
