Miriam is a nurse who provides compassionate and exemplary care to patients. She has good communication skills with patients and families. As a staff, she is fully clinical resource person who provides assistance to the colleagues as per need. She is always approachable and open to others for help and guidance. She is truly a role model for other nurses. She works as a charge nurse as well as resource nurse. She always utilizes clinical evidence knowledge while providing care to patient and has sound rationale for it.
I can't forget the time when she was my buddy and was assigned a young critically ill female patient. This patient was deteriorating day by day. The patient already knew that she is going to die despite aggressive treatment. Miriam almost spends whole time with patient, by sharing and communicating with patient about her past achievements. Miriam had excellent counseling skills even with her limited Arabic. She developed a good rapport and built good nurse-patient relationship. During this time, patient shared her last wish. As per patient's wish, Miriam did and provided exemplary excellent care to patient and family by involving spiritual leader (religious support), allowing the family to spend time with the patient by reading Quran and performing prayers.
It is right to say that she is a nurse with enthusiasm, creativity and versatile character. She is dedicated, committed and motivated. In other words, she truly depicts the picture of KFSHRC values- Patient focus, Quality, Compassion, Integrity and Teamwork.
