I wanted to take the time out to recognize one of our staff members. This acknowledgement is way over due for Miriam Kotek. It is a pleasure to see Miriam when I come to work on Women’s Surgery. She puts a smile on my face each and every time that she is here. Miriam is a job to work with; it does not matter if you are a nurse, C.N.A, or a HUC. Miriam is respectful, pleasant and a cooperative person and teamwork is her middle name. Miriam comes to work with a smile stays on her face the entire time that she is in Holy Cross Hospital. Everyone that works with her loves to be with her, you will not find anyone who has anything negative to say about her. Her patients hate to see her shift come to an end. She treats her patients as if they are gold and goes above and beyond to satisfy them. Miriam’s patients don’t even have a chance to call her for anything because she is always checking on them and somehow she knows what they need before they even think about calling her. She is a bright light that shines 24 hours a day. She is always asking her co-workers if there is anything that she can do for them, no matter the workload that she has of her own. She never goes home without saying goodnight and thank you to the staff. Miriam is always concerned and helpful and carries herself in a proficient manner. The devotion that Miriam demonstrates on a daily basis shows us all what patient caring is all about. She contributes to my having a peaceful atmosphere. I want to personally say thank you to her for the considerable role that she plays. She is to be commended on all the hard work that she does and I hope that she knows just how big of an influence she has on us all.

I am nominating Miriam Kotek for being such an outstanding co-worker. Miriam puts her needs aside to care for others by making sure that everyone is taken care of. I love working with her because she makes the day go easily. She helps in every aspect, even making sure that everyone’s needs are taken care of before her own. She has such a caring attitude. Her demeanor and approach makes her the wonderful nurse that she is.
