I have had the privilege of working with this professor every spring semester for the past several years. I love having this opportunity. I have learned so much from her and strive to be like her as an educator. There are several areas where I have seen this instructor shine but one story from this past semester really sticks with me. This instructor received a phone call from a student. The student was at a clinical observation site and had started to experience chest pain, shortness of breath, and was sweating. The instructor recommended the student be seen in the ER. The instructor took the time out of her day to sit in the ER with the student so the student wasn’t alone while experiencing these symptoms. She was there and available to the student. Wow! I’m sure there are several other ways that she could have spent her day, but she was right there with the student. She also does so much within our community including serving with Nurses on a Mission events, a CASA advocate, and founder of the Blazer Catholic Club. She’s great, and I can’t wait to be like her when I grow up!
