I was a patient on the 4th floor after my total hip replacement. The nursing staff was phenomenal. They were attentive, kind, observing, and professional. One nurse stood out though.
Her name is Misty Hale. I had some post-op concerns that she observed and acted on before more serious problems arose.
She was kind not only to me but to the staff she was working with her and took the time to teach good nursing care. So often in our technology age, the electronic record takes precedence over the patient. That just wasn't the case with Misty.
She touched me, checked my dressing assisted in position change and helped me control my pain not only through medication but ice, position change, and good patient education.
I know that the floor was extremely full those 2 nights, with ortho emergencies but she never hurried me or ignored needs. In fact, she foresaw anything that may be needed.
