With E being a junior in high school, we’ve begun the college/college major selection process. I believe that Mollie’s patience and willingness to take the time to answer all her questions is what ultimately led to E’s decision to major in nursing.
Back in July, my 16-year-old daughter, E, was admitted to St. Francis through the ER for what turned out to be an emergency appendectomy. The entire hospital staff made our stay as comfortable as possible. Following her procedure, my daughter was admitted to the PICU and assigned to nurse Mollie. I simply cannot say enough positive things about her. She went above and beyond a nurse's "scope of practice". She changed bed sheets, ensured that not only my daughter was comfortable but that I was as well- offering blankets, pillows, and ensured that the cafeteria sent two trays of food for each meal (this was much appreciated as I'm a single mom and didn't want to leave my daughter to go get food).

E loves biology, is very inquisitive, and asks a lot of questions. Mollie kindly answered everyone and thoroughly explained everything she was checking for and why each time she came to our room. She always had a smile on her face, was cheerful, and professional yet personable. With E being a junior in high school, we’ve begun the college/college major selection process. I believe that Mollie’s patience and willingness to take the time to answer all her questions is what ultimately led to E’s decision to major in nursing. After our discharge, I emailed the CNO to commend Mollie and the entire St. Francis staff for their excellent care, but I feel that Mollie deserves the DAISY Award for taking such great care of not only my daughter but of me.

She went above and beyond for my daughter. All the nurses and the doctor did. Mollie made us feel like family and not a patient. Thank you; I speak blessing upon each of you. Thank you once again.
