Molly went above and beyond and helped me with the nursing care rescue crew and stayed in the room with me until the rescue left the hospital with the patient.
I had to work one of the most challenging days at SJS Hospital since I got hired with BayCare. I cared for multiple pediatric patients and towards the end of my shift, a child arrived with the chief complaint of seizures and overdose who had to be stabilized and intubated to be safely transferred to SJCH. Molly showed up in the room and assisted me with additional nursing procedures and HCFR acting Lieutenant X with performing math calculations for versed drip in order to continue the appropriate sedation dose/rate for the patient.
HCFR rescue was having a difficult time using their syringe medication pump and mixing versed into sodium chloride to achieve the correct dose and rate. Molly went above and beyond and helped me with the nursing care rescue crew and stayed in the room with me until the rescue left the hospital with the patient.
The parents witnessed all the interventions and difficulties the rescue was having and began to cry. I gave both the parents huge hugs, and I reassured them that their child was taken care of and that we are going to do everything we need to make their child comfortable and safe for the transport. I also gave Molly a hug and told her, "You changed my day to a better day. I greatly appreciate everything you did for the patient myself and the rescue crew." I have worked with Molly in the pediatric and adult sides in the ER several times. I know 100% that I can count on her for questions interventions and clinical judgment at any time. Molly has wonderful bedside manners, treats all team members with respect, and gives everything she's got for patients, families, staff, and students. Thank you for being You!
