When Monica came on shift she listened to my concerns about his dressing changes and involved him in the conversation. She also addressed his pain and discomfort. He was placed on Neurontin which immediately helped the tenderness of his skin. She made a large note on the area of the room where his dressings pads were. The surgeon could communicate to the nurses using this note on how he wanted dressing changes done or changed.
