When my granddad was transferred to the CVT unit from the Emergency Department we were met by Monique. She was a smiling face who, after sitting in the Emergency Department for 12 hours, was a blessing. At first, I felt like we may be a little overwhelming as a room full of my family followed my grandfather to the floor. She was so kind, caring, and compassionate to all of us. She got my grandfather all straight and settled while still meeting the rest of our needs as well. She was willing to answer questions, give direction, get chairs, and even offer us a drink if we needed. She spent the next two days as my grandfather's night nurse, making a man who became completely disabled overnight still feel as though he had control.
In his words, "Monique is a top-notch nurse." On his 3rd night, he left the CVT floor to go to another unit. We wish we could take her with us. She cares not only for the patient but the family as well. I can't say enough about how lucky he/we were to be her patient. Thank you, Monique, for all you did for my granddad. He is our rock and you made his stay much easier. We will never be able to say thanks enough.
