I cried when I saw the sweet note she’d written on the sliding glass door of my room. It said “Good luck, you will do great today! We have some of the best nurses and doctors. Thanks for being a great patient. – Morgan D”
I was scared to death when I arrived at Fort Sanders, transferred by ambulance from Franklin Woods Hospital in Johnson City. I’d had a stroke and wasn’t fully aware of everything going on. I don’t remember a lot but have full memory of a bright smile and cheerful voice from Morgan, my angel of a nurse! I woke up many times to her leaning down close to my face and whispering. I know she held my hand because I was scared and was so kind to me, and to my husband and best friend when they arrived.
Morgan was a Godsend to all of us at such a horrible time when we really didn’t know how it would turn out. We arrived late at night. The next morning, I cried when I saw the sweet note she’d written on the sliding glass door of my room. It said “Good luck, you will do great today! We have some of the best nurses and doctors. Thanks for being a great patient. – Morgan D” What an amazing gesture – it meant the world to me! I’ll keep the picture of it I took and treasure it always. A simple gesture, but it had an extraordinary impact. Fast forward 7 weeks later I’m nearly fully recovered! Thanks to Morgan and all the special angels.
