A 4-year-old pediatric patient presented to the ED as a result of abuse. DSS was contacted and came to the hospital to evaluate. Morgan cared for the patient and the family and stayed with them throughout the ordeal, and a bond was formed. The patient was transferred to another hospital 30 miles away for care. The patient cried and cried for Morgan, was scared, and could not be calmed. Upon learning how upset the patient was, and following her shift, Morgan went to hospital where the young patient was transferred to comfort her and stayed with the patient until she became familiar with that staff and was no longer scared.
This extraordinary nurse went above and beyond to care for the patient and the family, and we are very proud of her!
