Thank you, Morgan! You have no idea how much you mean to me, and I cannot wait to tell my dad how much you helped him, were there for him, and cared for him at his most vulnerable.
My dad was rushed to the ER and admitted to the ICU the same night. So far, Morgan has been my father’s nurse for 3 days. Morgan was by far the best nurse one of my parents or myself has ever seen. She was taking care of my dad in the ICU for multiple days. She constantly checked in not only on my dad but on me as well.
Although my dad is in an induced coma, she made sure to talk to him and let him know exactly what she was doing and why. It made me so happy to see her treating him like a human being even though he was not conscious and could not communicate. She made sure I understood exactly what was going on every step of the way and always answered my long list of (probably annoying and repetitive) questions. She always had such empathy and care every step of the way. She remembered things I had said about my dad, myself, and our family and would remember to ask about them or bring that up, which shows how much she cares about her patients and that they are not just a number to her.
I am honestly getting emotional writing this, knowing that she will be off for the next couple of days and will not be able to be here for my dad or myself. I truly do not know how we would have gotten through this harrowing experience without her knowledge, kindness, and help. I have never been more comfortable with someone looking after my dad, as I know he is in such good hands. I am not scared to walk down for lunch/dinner because I know he is well taken care of, and she would let me know immediately if anything had changed. She is truly the most amazing nurse I have had the experience of having contact with, and I feel so blessed my dad was assigned to her care. She has been the ultimate silver lining in this difficult situation. Now I am actually crying thinking about what a great person she is, and I am so happy she chose the nursing profession and making a difference in the world and able to help strangers like my dad and our family through dark times and see the light to come out on the other side.
Thank you, Morgan! You have no idea how much you mean to me, and I cannot wait to tell my dad how much you helped him, were there for him, and cared for him at his most vulnerable. You have made a lasting impact on our family, and I am beyond forever grateful for you.
