His innate ability to empathize with their emotions creates a strong bond between him and those under his care.
In 2021, Motasem joined the esteemed King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) as a registered nurse in the Leukemia Unit. Over two years, Motasem's exceptional professionalism and unwavering dedication have been a constant source of inspiration. His remarkable personality shines through in his daily work, as he consistently goes above and beyond to serve both his patients and the unit as a whole. With a comprehensive and holistic approach, Motasem delivers nursing care of the highest caliber.
Motasem's outstanding nursing skills are complemented by his unique ability to foster a culture of compassionate care. He demonstrates a genuine interest in his patients, actively listening to their concerns, fears, and hopes. His innate ability to empathize with their emotions creates a strong bond between him and those under his care.
One particular day, a patient was admitted to the Leukemia Unit, and Motasem assumed the primary nurse role throughout his stay. During my routine morning rounds, I had the privilege of meeting the patient's son, who expressed deep gratitude for Motasem's exceptional commitment to providing care not only to the patient but also to their family members. Motasem, in his role, answered their questions and alleviated their anxiety during the most challenging moments.
Days later, after the patient passed away, his son shared his heartfelt gratitude towards the nursing team, especially Motasem, for the compassionate care provided throughout their time in the Leukemia Unit. Understanding the overwhelming nature of being diagnosed with Leukemia in advanced age, Motasem went above and beyond to ensure the patient's needs were met in a timely manner. The son mentioned that his father told them that he felt joy and happiness when he came to the hospital, and the secret behind this immense joy was Motasem. "Motasem's care went beyond the hospital walls when he attended the funeral ceremony and supported the family in their loss." The patient's son stated.
During the last two months of his father's life, the son witnessed firsthand how Motasem treated his father as if he were a member of his own family. Motasem's positive attitude, warm smile, and gentle touch made a significant difference every time he entered the room. Not only did he excel in patient care, but he also provided immense support to the family. He brought comfort, patiently addressing all their questions and concerns.
Throughout this emotional journey, Motasem's extraordinary level of compassionate care left an indelible mark on the lives of those involved. No words adequately describe his profound impact on the patient and his family. Motasem's actions truly exemplify the mission and values of KHCC.
Thank you, Motasem, for embodying the true spirit of a DAISY Nurse. Your unwavering commitment to delivering compassionate care is an inspiration to us all.
