She handles the toughest situations with grace, often going above and beyond to ensure that each patient feels seen, heard, and cared for.
I am proud to nominate an exceptional individual who embodies the core principles of a High Reliability Organization (HRO) through her unwavering commitment to integrity, compassion, collaboration, accountability, respect, and equity in the healthcare profession. With 28 years of experience, she consistently demonstrates sound decision-making rooted in both her clinical expertise and educational background.

Her collaborative spirit fosters a respectful environment, earning her the admiration of her peers. Notably, she was the first employee recognized as Employee of the Month in her unit, a testament to her embodiment of the ICARE values every day. As a selfless servant leader, she prioritizes her patients and colleagues, ensuring that their needs are met with compassion and respect. A prime example of her accountability and advocacy occurred when she identified a critical oversight regarding a patient’s medication during discharge. By reaching out to the physician, she prevented potential harm that could have arisen from an error, exemplifying her diligence and commitment to patient safety.

Her genuine concern for the well-being of others leaves a lasting positive impression on everyone she encounters. This nominee is a true embodiment of the principles that guide us in our mission to provide equitable and compassionate care. One memorable evening, after she had already handed off to the next shift, she noticed a wheelchair-bound patient ready for discharge. Rather than calling the transport team or asking a tech for assistance, she selflessly stepped in to help. She gathered the patient and their belongings and headed downstairs. Almost an hour after her shift had ended, she returned, having stayed with the patient who was anxious about not being able to find their family member. With genuine compassion, she reassured the patient and assisted them in locating their loved one, ensuring they were not left alone during a stressful moment.

My nominee is an amazing human who tirelessly dedicates her life to caring for others. Her compassion, resilience, and unwavering commitment make a profound difference in the lives of countless patients, their families, and the unit she works in. From the moment she steps into the hospital, she becomes a beacon of hope and comfort. Whether it’s administering medication, offering a reassuring word, or providing life-saving interventions, her skills and expertise are invaluable. She handles the toughest situations with grace, often going above and beyond to ensure that each patient feels seen, heard, and cared for.

It is these qualities that make her an invaluable part of our team and she truly deserves to be recognized for her unwavering commitment and the positive impact she has on all those she encounters.
