Myrafel is an outstanding ambulatory care nurse who works in Pediatrics. There has been a staff shortage for more than 6 months and during that time she has maintained her superior work ethic, customer service, and critical thinking. The number of times that she has performed above and beyond cannot possibly be put into this short write up. However, I can tell you a few things that she has done with my first-hand knowledge.
Working with the front desk staff she has triaged multiple patients to ensure that they receive the proper and timely level of care. One day a parent brought their child into the clinic and asked for an appointment. We had no same day availability and were fully booked. However, the front desk staff had concerns and brought them to Myra's attention. She promptly assessed and triaged the child. She immediately engaged one of our pediatricians and they were able to treat, stabilize and arrange transport to an appropriate level of care. Her quick action resulted in a positive outcome that likely would not have been the case had she not been so focused on patient-centered care and critically thinking about what is best for her patient.
She often serves as the customer service expert in the clinic. Our front desk staff do an amazing job with customer service and resolving things that are within their control. However, if unable to de-escalate the situation they often rely on Myra. She always approaches every situation with a clear and level head.
She treats everyone with outstanding customer service and is routinely able to resolve any situation that arises. She has no doubt been a major contributing factor in keeping our customer satisfaction rate well above 90%.
Despite being the only full-time pediatric nurse for 5 providers, she routinely answers all telephone consults within 24 hours. By instruction, she has up to 72 hours to answer these messages, but her goal, which she consistently meets, is to deliver the best care possible for our patients. She appropriately manages the clinic resources and utilizes her corpsmen and support staff to ensure that the clinic functions at a superior level. Her dedication to training her corpsmen, nurses, and collaborating with the providers is a prime example of what every Medical Home Port leader aspires to find when hiring nurses.
RN Isip has shown extreme dedication in delivering safe and efficient patient-centered care.
