She was calm, patient, reassuring, personable and very knowledgeable.
We were having trouble getting our newborn to successfully latch and breastfeed. Myrna had checked in with me at the beginning of our stay on labor and delivery and provided some initial guidance. We were feeling good and spent our first night with our baby. As the night wore on, our breastfeeding journey got worse, and I really struggled to feed the baby. Myrna happened to be working the next morning and checked in with us. She found me in tears over the stress of it all and was incredibly patient, kind, and reassuring. She helped us brainstorm a plan (and several contingency plans to ease my anxiety) to make sure our newborn was fed in a way that we were comfortable with. Throughout the day and even the next day she continued to check in and bring us different tools. She was calm, patient, reassuring, personable and very knowledgeable. Because of her patience and willingness to tailor her care to our needs, we are successfully breastfeeding our baby. She was the best resource during our time in the hospital!!
