She earned my trust and my friendship, and I knew I was safe under her care.
I have suffered from my blood disorder for longer than I can remember. Being admitted to many hospitals over my lifetime makes me completely and uniquely qualified to say that all hospitals are not created equal.  I continue to come here because there is a culture of caring that seems to only exist here at Del Webb. Even with my blood disorder I feel as though I have been accepted as family.

However, we all know that there are levels to this and the bonds between nurses and patients can be so powerful, there is no word in any language that can define it.

During this brief stay, I was cared for by a particular nurse, and in this short time, I have determined that the most powerful medication a patient can get is the care of a great nurse!  She never complained, she was always attentive, and no matter the need, large or small, she delivered as though I was the only one under her care on the floor.  If there was an all-star team, she would certainly be the captain. She didn’t simply show up when it was time to medicate me, she checked on me constantly in between.  If I had to count, I would have to say at least three times every hour. She earned my trust and my friendship, and I knew I was safe under her care.

It is wonderful to meet someone who has truly found her calling.  Although I know I wrote too much, I still don’t think I have found the words to explain her impact on my care and healing!  10 out of 10!!
