Through constructive criticism balanced with encouragement, we are pushed to find our scholarly voice.
Dr. Nancy Jo Bush leads the DNP program and teaches a number of courses within the program. A faculty member with the UCLA School of Nursing since 2018, Dr. Bush demonstrates by example how to attune content to advanced learners’ needs for support as well as critical feedback. As students noted, she excels at guiding students to do their best within a supportive community of learners. The most recent cohort of graduates writes about her powerful influence:
Dr. Bush makes each one of us feel like we have the power to change the face of nursing. She embodies the grace, patience, and structure of the noblest professors. She is really invested in every cohort. Through constructive criticism balanced with encouragement, we are pushed to find our scholarly voice.
We recognize Dr. Bush for her humanistic approach to creating a learning community within a cohort of DNP students. She is recognized as a guide and an inspiration by students and inspires them to do their best to transform nursing.Â
