Nanna made sure that I was getting what I needed, that the nurses were giving me the best care possible, she exudes compassion, skill, her presence was felt by all.
I was in BCH for Acute Sciatica. I was in so much pain that I was heavily medicated the entire time thus I don't remember much. I am on a daily dose of Warfarin because I have had 3 blood clots - the 3rd blood clot was a pulmonary clot in my right lung 4 months after I had toe surgery. The doctors had to wait until my numbers were down to give me an epidural. I do remember, however, Nanna Bo visiting me. Nanna made sure that I was getting what I needed, that the nurses were giving me the best care possible, she exudes compassion, skill, her presence was felt by all.
My daughter is my hero-she got the ambulance to pick me up within minutes of coming to get me, I could not move. She rallied my family and friends to help her with this huge responsibility, I believe Nanna was there for my daughter too! A decision had to be made if I should go home or to a rehab facility. My family, Nanna Bo included, and dear friends decided (I believe I voted for rehab) I should not go home but I should go to PowerBack Rehab in Lafayette. That was a very smart decision, I have learned some very painful lessons and feel so much better now!
Nanna is "one-in-a-million" she cares so much for her patients and people she loves. Nanna is my sister-in-law. I know Nanna has some health challenges, but she never complains or lets us know or help her. Nanna puts her whole self and then some into her work and I respect her so much and the journey she took to be a nurse many years ago. Nanna is an Extraordinary Nurse and Human Being.
