She hugged us and gave us such support and compassion during those last minutes.
My husband, R, was in the Unit for ten days when he passed away. All personnel had been wonderful. However, on this particular day, God knew exactly who we needed. Natali came in, shook my hand, and introduced herself. I felt a calmness I had not felt before. The doctors came in and told us that things were not good and there came a time to decide if we wanted to remove the ventilator. Natali was the shoulder we needed. She did not rush us or push us in any way. After the decision was made to disconnect, she gave us time and assured us our decision had been the best. My husband had a lock of gray hair, and I wanted it. She helped me cut it and bag it up. She hugged us and gave us such support and compassion during those last minutes. When we went to the Funeral Home, she sent the EKG of his last heartbeat. I was so moved. I thank God for nurses like Natali. She is one in a million!
