She was able to tailor the patient's care to preserve his dignity and meet his needs in the most compassionate manner.
During a recent patient rounding call, Natalya was recognized by the wife of a patient we recently had on our hospice service. Natalya was his primary nurse. She was able to tailor the patient's care to preserve his dignity and meet his needs in the most compassionate manner.
His wife said, "Natalya has been outstanding. She helped my husband feel cared for and secure without feeling "invaded" and allowed him to keep his dignity. When things had progressed, Natalya was able to gently recommend we allow the hospice aides to come help with his personal care. They were so helpful and nice. They became more than healthcare workers. They became friends and like family. I would recommend your hospice care over and over. We were so pleased with the care we included some words of thanks in his obituary. We couldn't have done it without the team."
Natalya often seeks ways to explain what is happening with the patient and what to expect to the patient and family in ways they can understand while showing respect and keeping them involved.
