He made the treatment so bearable for me. He tucked me in a warm blanket as I was freezing cold. He even provided a chair that was heated.
Today was my first-ever transfusion. I was supposed to receive them months ago, but I was scared by the possible side effects they told me could happen, especially death! So, I tried 4 months of oral supplements instead. Unfortunately, that did not work and just postponed the inevitable.

So, I arrived today and was extremely apprehensive. Nurse Nick welcomed me, walked me back to a room, and made me feel comfortable. He was patient with me and explained the procedure. He found a vein on the first try (it usually takes 2-3 tries as my veins hide and roll around)! He reassured me and checked in on me. He made the treatment so bearable for me. He tucked me in a warm blanket as I was freezing cold. He even provided a chair that was heated.

I want to thank Nick for being such a kind and caring nurse. It was difficult to walk into the clinic two days before Christmas. Thanks to Nick, I wish I had received these transfusions back in September instead of taking the oral iron supplement and being nauseous from it for the last 4 months. Thank you, Nick, from the bottom of my heart!
