This is a true testament to Nicole’s ability to connect with patients and provide compassionate, individualized care.
I nominate Nicole Ahbe for the DAISY Award for her exceptional care, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her patients and team. Recently, Nicole provided extraordinary care to a patient known for having very challenging behaviors. Despite the difficulties, Nicole approached the situation with patience and compassion. She spent extra time helping the patient wash up, style her hair, take laps around the unit for some much-needed exercise, and tidy her room. This thoughtful and personalized attention not only met the patient’s physical needs but also significantly improved their emotional well-being. As a result, the patient was noticeably calmer and more comfortable, even going a record amount of time without being agitated or needing assistance. This is a true testament to Nicole’s ability to connect with patients and provide compassionate, individualized care.
Nicole consistently puts her patients first. She takes the time to sit down, listen to their concerns, and advocate for their needs. Her dedication extends beyond the bedside, as she inspires her colleagues with her commitment to excellence in nursing. Nicole embodies the qualities that make a DAISY Award Nurse: kindness, compassion, and a genuine passion for patient-centered care. She is a shining example of what it means to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families.
Thank you, Nicole, for all that you do!
