Nikki is an outstanding nurse and clinician. She has extensive experience that she readily shares with all her coworkers and uses throughout her day to perform her job with clinical expertise and compassionate nursing care. I have observed Nikki many times and marveled at her extraordinary rapport with children and families. Whether in pre or post op Nikki excels at connecting with families to relieve their anxieties about surgery and answering their questions to make the perioperative experience less traumatic. There are hugs, high 5's, little notes and stuffed animals with matching dressings, hats and masks. I think Nikki raises the nursing standard of excellence for the entire staff at Surgery South. She is an incredible asset to the organization and should be recognized.
