Nicole is one of the most exceptional nurses that I have ever seen work with my father. He was having some cognitive difficulties and our nurse would hustle into the room and his whole face would light up no matter how much pain he was in. His suprapubic catheter came out. Nicole's prompt action had the urologist there within 5 minutes to re-insert the catheter. The urologist thought there would be almost no chance to reinsert the catheter. But I believe her getting him here within 5 minutes saved my father from another procedure. She has everlasting patience with my father, the family and all of her co-workers. Why dad was sad that he would not be seeing her again, she exemplifies everything good about the nursing profession. After 22 days in the hospital and many fine nurses, I cannot think of anyone who would deserve this award more. The nurse manager strongly endorsed this nomination. She states, this nomination is just one example of the care that this nurse provides daily. The nurse was also recently recognized by a physician as the “best” nurse on the floor. This nurse also completed her RN/BSN while working fulltime.
