I would like to thank Nikko Anuddin for being an extraordinary nurse. My husband D had quadruple bypass surgery and Nikko was our night nurse. D had a tough day the night Nikko arrived for work. The anesthesia/medication had distorted D's vision and caused hallucinations. We thought there may have been a blood clot causing a stroke, etc. It turned out to be as a result of the medication, but we didn't know that right away. And, after the tough day, I was considering spending the night.
Then Nikko arrived. He had obviously studied D's chart and told us that the next steps were and what to expect for the evening. He was efficient and comforting. The rest of the staff was good too, but we found ourselves not having to ask questions with Nikko. He had already anticipated above and beyond what we wanted to know, and he was always there for whatever we needed. And, yes, for what "we" needed. He was aware of things that I may have needed also.
Nikko's expertise and professionalism coupled with his compassion made me comfortable, that with whatever arose, Nikko would be there to take care of D. We were fortunate that Nikko was also working on D's last night. Again, he knew everything on D's chart, and explained that we needed a new IV that night and explained why. The energy and dedication that Nikko provided were unparalleled. He is a true DAISY Nurse.
