The moment Nina walked through the door, I knew everything was going to be okay and felt a huge sense of relief. Nina cared for our daughter almost 2 years ago. I never forgot her. She also remembered our daughter, O. Nina cared for O as if she was her own. She was gentle and kind while taking her BP and giving medications, often soothing O into calmness. She always made sure we had absolutely everything we needed (not just for O, but for us too).
Nina always explained our daughter's care plan and what the doctor said in a positive, clear, and compassionate way. She went out of her way to get O the foods she likes to encourage her to eat. No matter how stressed or anxious we were, she offered positive encouragement and genuine empathy for our situation. I truly believe that Nina's compassionate care and knowledgeable experience as a nurse (and mom to a child with a shunt) helped O more than words could ever express. She really does understand what it is like to fear for her the way I do. I do not think she treated O differently than any other child. She genuinely loves being a nurse and helping families in their times of need. Thank you, Nina!
