Nurse Johnson did his nursing care magic and my mum lifted her legs, expressed her emotions freely and cried out loud. He encouraged my mum and treated her as his own mother.
I met L/Cpl Johnson when my mum was admitted to the 37 Military Hospital, at the James Cole ward. He proved to be an exceptional nurse. He took very good care of my mum like his very own.
While my mum was on admission she became extremely depressed as a result of the death of my elder brother.
Nurse Johnson managed to make my mum begin to laugh again by singing and dancing Agbadza, a local dance form, in front of my mum in a funny way. This made us all laugh and through his counselling, my mum got her joy back.
I must admit, that his actions and care really touched my heart and my mother as well. We were amazed because, for almost 3 weeks after the demise of my brother, it took the intervention of Johnson to bring back smiles on our mum's face and some level of happiness.
My mother, our entire family, and I are grateful to Johnson for making our mum smile for the first time in 3 weeks.
This did not stop there, after my mum was discharged, he visited my mum at home and managed once again to make my mum sing and express how she was feeling and even encourage my mum to lift her legs by her own self without any help from us.
I can say that after the death of my brother, my mum's health condition got worse and we lost hope but thank God for Nurse Johnson, my mum survived her condition as well as her depression, and even though at a point, she was not able to do anything on her own, but Nurse Johnson did his nursing care magic and my mum lifted her legs, expressed her emotions freely and cried out loud. He encouraged my mum and treated her as his own mother.
My entire family was very happy on that day for seeing our mum releasing some pain out of her chest and later becoming active again
Nurse Johnson is a rare human being and nurse and he is very passionate about his work and very diligent. He is efficient and very proactive and resourceful, very well experienced, dedicated to his job, and always cheerful and full of smiles on his face.

I have personally encountered and benefited immensely from the nursing care of L/Cpl Johnson when he took care of me after my anal fistula surgery recently.
He showed me a lot of compassion while attending to me and encouraged me to be strong on days when he realized I was down emotionally.
He kept our relationship purely on a patient/nurse in a therapeutic and compassionate manner. L/Cpl Nwakan is a perfect ambassador for the nursing profession anywhere he goes. His style of communication alone served as a healing balm for my pains and anxieties. When he explained technical issues to me as a layman and a patient, he made me very comfortable anytime he was around. He checks on me regularly and I see him do the same for every patient on the ward. Sometimes we the patients wonder how a man can be so caring.
Even after my wound healed, he was there by my side until my discharge.
