We loved Olga Dileno! She was our awesome nurse both nights when we had our baby, L. I wish I had known about this nomination sooner. It is because of her encouragement and my husband's support that I am still breastfeeding nine months later. She was my cheerleader and late-night encourager. Olga knelt by my bed and cried with me when it hurt. She shared many encouraging stories and made my husband and I feel empowered to be the best caregivers for our baby girl.
We will always remember our middle of the night "swaddling training". She brought us a CPR dummy and patiently practiced and practiced swaddling with us. We were never as good as Olga, but we learned. She did all of this while caring for me and my physical recovery with respect and genuine concern. She even gave me her personal cell phone to text and update her on how we are doing. I pray that when we have our next baby we will be blessed to deliver at East Cooper and we will have Olga as our nurse again. She is extraordinary!
