My father was diagnosed with a very aggressive type of cancer. We have had some incredible nurses, but none quite like Olivia. She was everything we didn’t know we needed during this time. She took the time to listen, was empathetic and compassionate, and was a glimmer of joy to our days. She always did what she said she would and did it in a timely manner.

We got admitted to our room very late at night, and my dad had not eaten all day. She asked him what he would want if he could have anything in the world (knowing his appetite was low, so trying to get him to eat). He jokingly said, “Cassano’s pizza, sausage, and a root beer.” She looked at him and said, “Done!”

She went above and beyond to do anything she could to make him comfortable and positive. She even gifted him a memory journal so that he could get his thoughts out and keep his memory and legacy alive. I have never met anyone like her in this field, and she was truly amazing and a blessing.
