My dad was transferred to the CTICU floor after being placed on a ventilator due to Covid-19. After several days on the ventilator, my father's condition was worsening and not improving. I was allowed to visit him, and it was late when I arrived due to my living out of town. When arriving to my dad’s bedside, Paige came in to introduce herself as his nurse. She went on to explain how the ventilator worked and what all the settings meant. Dad had many different IVs and she explained which each one was for. Every time one of his machines started making noises, she was right in to tend to it. She even got another IV pole to arrange all his medicines and lines in a neater more organized manner.

The next night as Paige was coming on to work her shift my dad passed away. She did all she could to help my dad until his grandchildren could come to say their goodbyes. Paige was very professional and compassionate during a very difficult time in our family's lives. After talking with her I was blown away to learn she had only been a nurse for a year. She was very knowledgeable and very passionate about her job and deserves to be recognized for being a wonderful nurse! Thank you for your loving care of my dad.
