“She’s a keeper.” You better hang onto her. I will always consider Pam a friend.
What a lovely way to commemorate your lovely nurses, one of which I would like to remember. Her name is Pamela Bauer and she worked in the orthopedic unit on the 6th floor of Oak Hill Hospital when I arrived. I had told Pamela after my short stay, there would be no way I could ever repay her for the services she provided me, always with a smile on her face, no matter how tired she was, which you could see in her eyes. We had tiny little chuckles, sometimes even laughter, no matter if it was two in the morning.
There is not nearly enough room in this small brochure or on this piece of paper, that I could tell you about all the wonderful things she did for me. For the number of years I have lived, I cannot tell you the number of people I have made contact with in various fields, in everyday life, and just people in {my} hometown. You find people like Pam very seldom. As the old fishermen say, “She’s a keeper.” You better hang onto her. I will always consider Pam a friend. Whenever I recuperate from this accident I would be willing to help her in any way that I can, whenever she asked. It brings tears to my eyes to know that our paths may not cross often. Enjoy your DAISY Award Pam and I hope there are many more to follow as there should be. God bless you, Pam.
