Everyone deserves their flowers in due time, and I think someone as amazing as Paul Coleman should receive his now, hence my nomination for a DAISY Award, and all of us would agree that it is overdue.
I was a traveler at PMMC. I recognize that we nurses rarely compliment and acknowledge the people we work with. I find it imperative that I leave these words before my departure.
I've been around Paul for much of my assignment, and from the first day, I knew there was something special about him. I also noticed what a special human being he is from the interactions with the patients, the permanent employees, and us travelers. He is always available to answer questions, whether they are from family members or colleagues. He is very knowledgeable about his work. His work ethic draws us close to him.
Paul is very versatile: We have music, food, direction, and supervision. I also noticed his relationship with other employees. Everyone seems to be alive around him. He knows how to bring people together, and he is very good at it. I have traveled and participated in many assignments, but I must confess that I have never, never met someone like Paul. He is very humble and treats everyone the same, as well as very respectful and courteous. He gave breaks, covered for nurses, and answered the phone promptly. This assignment has been the best for me. Some might think that we need more time to know someone. I do believe that a travel assignment is enough time to make a positive impact in someone's life. The amount of time I was here was enough to be a part of this team, granted the manager is a formidable person, but he did it. Everyone deserves their flowers in due time, and I think someone as amazing as Paul Coleman should receive his now, hence my nomination for a DAISY Award, and all of us would agree that it is overdue.

Every shift that I worked Paul was very supportive. This may sound minor but as a traveler I’ve never had a charge nurse ask or care if I had lunch or not. Thanks to him and really the entire same day surgery staff that worked with us, shifts ran very smoothly with their patience and kindness.

He helped me get crutches for my patient and took the old ones to be fixed. He also helped me coordinate a transfer for a patient. He does this stuff all the time!
