This was my 3rd visit to the Aurora Sheboygan Hospital over the past 4 months.  I suffered from an unknown allergic reaction that impacted my ability to breathe.  I will be providing multiple recognitions as this most recent visit has exceeded my expectations on many levels.  

Paula worked the day shift and attended to me on the second morning of my overnight stay.  Paula greeted me with a warm smile and a genuine concern as to how I was doing from overnight.   She made the time to not simply review the notes from the other RNs from the evening and the previous day but rather asked me to detail the background.  She already knew that this was my 3rd episode from the reports but allowed me to share my concern.  She allowed and understood my frustrations and the concerns of not being able to get to the bottom of the issue. She assured me that she and the Team would work hard to get to the bottom of this issue and help get me to the Allergy Specialist in a quicker fashion. 

During her shift she provided reassurance that things were moving in a positive direction.   When administering my medications, she always provided the details as to what she was giving as well at the reason and benefits.  During her room visits, her work phone was always ringing, but she never made me feel rushed.  She again made the time to make me her priority.  I am 100% confident that this is how she treated all of the patients under her care.   I am extremely grateful to have met her and to have her be a big part of my stay and treatment.
