Pei-Shan is a gentle and considerate nurse. With years of pediatric patient experience, she has more tolerance and patience. She is easy-going. The colleagues love to work with her because they feel secured when she is around and she always helps to care for the patients.
In September 2019, she took care of a 90-year-old lady, who was sent to the hospital with a fracture after falling down at home. During hospitalization, her son was the primary caretaker, while the daughter only visited sometimes. Pei-Shan noticed that the patient had not taken a shower or a sponge bath for days in the hospital. She talked to her and found out that she actually longed for a shower but was too embarrassed to ask her son for help and he had never asked. Since she was going to be discharged the next day, she was feeling a bit anxious and impatient. Therefore, Pei-Shan volunteered to help her. She promised the patient that she would stay after work to fulfill her wish because it takes quite some time to take a shower. After being discharged, the patient stopped by at the nursing station and expressed how thankful she was for Pei-Shan. Her mood had been lightened up after she took a shower and went home. She wanted us to let Pei-Shan know her gratefulness. This is how sweet Pei-Shan is! She always tries her best to satisfy the patients' needs regardless of rewards. The only thing she wishes for is that every patient is taken care of properly and profoundly - even though she has to sacrifice her own time.
