A father came to the ER asking for help. He was wondering how to tell his children that their mother had passed away in an extremely traumatic event. Rachel went above and beyond to help the very emotional father. She contacted a chaplain and let the father speak to him. She called a child life specialist and gave the father more information on how to communicate with his children. She gave him information for hotlines in case he needed more help. Rachel was very patient, empathetic, and understanding during the fathers stay and never left his side. She was a perfect example of the care and support that Memorial Hermann strives to provide. Rachel is the perfect person to receive the DAISY Award.
