This nurse is ALWAYS a light that shines so bright every single day in our clinic. She brings a smile to our patients' faces every time she interacts with them. She's a ball of positive energy and I really couldn't imagine our clinic without her.
We have a young patient who means so much to many of us here in clinic. He has been through so much over the last few years and the road he travels is a rocky one. This nurse went above and beyond to bring a smile to his face recently. Everyone in clinic pitched in but it was this nurse who took her personal time to reach out to the Seattle Seahawks and put together an amazing gift for the patient to bring a smile to his face.
The staff collectively pulled together and raised $625 to give to this patient. Here is the message that this nurse sent out to update staff:
"We were able to raise $625 to give him, along with a little bit extra to buy him some snacks for his gift basket. You all wrote so many amazing notes, so his envelope was stuffed full of love and support. He was completely speechless and there wasn't a dry eye in the room. He was hesitant to take the gift saying it was too much and that he didn't know how to repay us back, but we insisted he take it and we don't want anything in return. He was so appreciative of it and said that we have made his journey so much better and always enjoys coming to see us, even on his bad days.
The smile on his face was big enough to light up the world, and I'm so appreciative of everyone who took the time to write him a note, donate money, or stop by his room to tell him how much he means to you. You all made a huge impact on his life and I can guarantee you that he will never forget how we made him feel yesterday. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and from his, because he wanted everyone to know how thankful he was. You all are amazing"
I know this nurse didn't think twice about doing this and I'm pretty sure she'd do it for every single patient if she could. That is why Rachel is a true DAISY Nurse.
