Since she was assigned to me, Rachel has made my stay everything a patient could hope for. She's very attentive and was a listening ear when I was frustrated. Rachel was an empathetic and compassionate soul to sit and stay with me through the most painful episodes I had ever experienced. All the while talking me through the experience with care and humor and love for my well-being. When modern meds weren't working so well, Rachel went beyond the "norm" and brought to my room aromatherapy oils. I love things that smell good but was skeptical of how they would help. She put a few drops on a wipe and set it in a cup and when I inhaled the air in my room a wave of calm subsided over me with such ease. I was very much relaxed and not focused on what was hurting. I spoke with her about how I typically relieve pain and what works for me at home. She listened attentively and even if she didn't believe what I was saying, she never gave an impression. She spoke with my doctors about what I told her and when permission was given, accommodated my request expeditiously. She keeps a very positive and humble disposition at all times. She made me feel like a person and friend. I never felt like a patient with diverticulitis. I was never made to feel like I ever interrupted her or contacted her too often. She never made me wait long. I truly believe Rachel was born for this.
