I am writing to nominate Rachel Kaiser from Mehandru 5 in recognition of her exceptional care and compassion towards a patient who was chronically ill. Rachel went above and beyond in her duties to ensure the comfort and dignity of the patient during her final hours.

The patient, who had been struggling with a decreased appetite for days, was under Rachel's care. Despite the challenges, Rachel took it upon herself to personally source pasta, ricotta, and sauce in an effort to improve the patient's appetite. Unfortunately, the patient's condition took a turn for the worse, and a decision was made to transition to comfort care. 

During this difficult time, the patient expressed to Rachel that she felt she was beginning to transition to the other side. Rachel displayed remarkable empathy and support for both the patient and her son. She stayed by their side, offering comfort and solace long after her shift had ended until the patient passed. Rachel's actions exemplify her unwavering dedication to providing compassionate and dignified care to those in need. Her commitment to going above and beyond for her patients is truly commendable and deserving of recognition.
