My husband, a cancer patient, was admitted into the hospital for observation. We had been to Columbus Regional prior to this visit and we knew we could still expect superior care not only from our doctors, but also the nurses and techs. On this night, 0ur nurse was Randi Davis. We had not met her during our previous stay, but she was just as amazing as the others who have cared for my husband.
While caring for my husband that night, she found out that I was going to be celebrating my birthday the next day. When nurse Randi came back to work the next evening, she brought with her flowers, a birthday card, and a couple of cupcakes for my husband and me to celebrate my birthday! She didn't have to do this, but she told me something that truly meant so much: That she knows that if my husband could, he would be doing the same thing - to celebrate me!
I can't begin to explain how so many of the nurses and techs at Columbus Regional have made life a little easier to bear while we fight for my husband's recovery! At a time when my family was struggling to stay afloat from all the stress, she stepped up not as a nurse, but as a friend! She didn't have to buy the gifts she brought, but she made me feel loved and made my husband happy that someone took the initiative to do something he truly would have done for his wife.
