Rebecca Fitzgerald registered me for my surgery, and she went above and beyond to ensure I felt cared for, valued, and safe. I have a large medical history and list of medications, and she carefully went through each one and never made me feel rushed. She emphasized ensuring everything was correct so I’d get the best medical care possible. I have extensive medical trauma, and she offered to have another nurse give me a tour of some units that I would be in to help me feel safer and know what to expect, which I’ve never had someone offer to do before at other hospitals.
As a person with chronic illnesses and trauma, I often feel like I’m an inconvenience to the medical staff. However, Rebecca truly gave me a fantastic experience and made me feel valued and heard as a patient and as a person.
