Over the twenty years that Becky has been with the VA she has shown commitment to her job and will go the extra mile for the Veterans. Advocacy is something Becky has built by forming trusting relationships with the Veterans, which is why they seek her out when they have concerns and issues.
I would like to recognize Becky for her dedication to our Veterans. Becky has covered two pact teams since the loss of an RNCM in Warren. During this time, she has not only been the only RNCM in Warren, but she has also helped cover other CBOCs. Becky is always available to help other nurses, provide teaching, and answer questions, even with her intense workload. Becky puts Veterans first and goes above and beyond to ensure their needs are met while juggling case managing and helping out with clinics in the Warren CBOC. She advocates for her patients on a daily basis to ensure they are getting the care they deserve. Becky provides a high standard of quality care and is compassionate to those she serves. She is respectful and helpful to her coworkers both in Warren and in other locations. Becky acts on the VA's core values daily and does the right thing even when no one is watching.

Rebecca goes above and beyond what is expected of her to make sure that each Veteran has their needs met. She consistently works with others as the “expert” when other nurses have questions from other locations as well as her own CBOC. She is quick to find answers or solutions and responds to others efficiently. Rebecca has been running both PACTs in the Warren CBOC since February this year, serving over 1900 Veterans. Additionally, she surrogates for other nurses in addition to her current workload. Rebecca has also been helping onboard our newest Nurse Practitioner, completing time studies and assisting him with workload suggestions.

This year has been challenging with staffing, having employees out and retiring, Rebecca has been able to consistently keep up with her Care Manager responsibilities and steps in to run clinics when the need arises. She moves seamlessly between the different roles within the clinic. Becky has taken on multiple providers to pre/post them, runs nurse while keeping up with her RNCM responsibilities. Not many nurses can accomplish this successfully over an extended period of time.

Every day, we have Veterans who come in and ask for Becky by name to ask questions and to run things by her. She has built solid relationships with the Veterans in the Warren clinic. When Becky is covering for other RNCMs the providers feel at ease within other clinics as they know she will step up and deal with any issues they have. When I think about the ICARE values, Becky truly exhibits these each day. She brings integrity to the clinic and honesty to the employees, providers, and veterans. She has strong moral principles, and as she assists others, whether through training or questions, she explains the correct policies and the reasons behind them. Over the twenty years that Becky has been with the VA she has shown commitment to her job and will go the extra mile for the Veterans. Advocacy is something Becky has built by forming trusting relationships with the Veterans, which is why they seek her out when they have concerns and issues. Respect, Becky shows the Veterans kindness and patience in each interaction. She truly values the service each Veteran has given for our country and shows it daily. Finally, Becky has a commitment to excellence for the VA. She combines her extensive knowledge and dedication to make an impact to everyone she encounters.

I cannot say enough great things about this nurse. Her main provider had this to say about Becky, "Becky is always helpful and willing to step in wherever/whenever needed. She regularly goes above and beyond to aid the veterans, other nurses, and providers. She is regularly called upon to cover other nursing staff and not only is willing to cover but always does an outstanding job.  She is one of the best nurses I have personally worked with throughout my entire medical career and makes the job more enjoyable and manageable."

Truly an exceptional Nurse. Caring, Concerned, empathetic Nurse. Above and beyond and 100 more adjectives.
