She established a special connection with us, asking if we had picked out a name, and talking to us about parenthood personally. She made it feel less like a sterile environment, and more like being checked up on by a friend.
During a stressful trip to the L&D unit at only 25 weeks of gestation, Rebekah relieved all of our worries and concerns about the baby. She was kind, professional, and sympathetic to our fears and worries. She sat down so she was at eye level with the bed and had conversations with me about what my concerns were, potential plans of action, and what to expect. She was educational in showing us what the screens meant and made sure we understood each process that they were doing by explaining in great detail. She was compassionate, making sure my significant other and I were both comfortable, offering us snacks and water between wait times, making sure I had warm blankets and dry gowns, and checking in on us repeatedly in between technicians coming in and out. She established a special connection with us, asking if we had picked out a name, and talking to us about parenthood personally. She made it feel less like a sterile environment, and more like being checked up on by a friend. She would consistently check in with pharmacy when we were waiting on medications, with the residents and with the doctor to make the stay as smooth and functional as possible. She took what was one of our scariest moments of pregnancy thus far and relieved our worries and fears. We felt heard, seen, and taken care of by her and our doctor. We left with renewed spirits.
