Rebekah is a wonderful asset to this organization. She is caring. All of her patients sing praises about how well she treats them. She is constant. You can always count on Rebekah to lend a helping hand. No matter if it is taking out the trash or assisting a co-worker's assigned patient to the bathroom if they are busy. She is kind. Rebekah is always the first to offer a kind word or prayer if a patient or co-worker is having a bad day. And not least of all, she is patient. Rebekah always helps her patients in their own time. She is never rushed or hurried and gives her patients her full attention when she is with them. I'm always happy when I get to work and see that I will be working with her. Rebekah is truly an all around good person and I can't think of a better nurse that should receive recognition.

Thanks for the opportunity to nominate a nurse for the DAISY Award. Sorry, this is a bit late. I had a stroke and was a resident at the former ETMC's Rehabilitation Hospital. I nominate Rebekah Hill, she of notable footwear fame. I mention her foot apparel because I noticed one day that she was wearing what looked like wings attached to her ankles. She informed me she was making her rounds as Wonder Woman. I think that's what she said. Maybe she said Tinkerbell. No, I think it was Wonder Woman. After noticing that every day she had different footwear, I mentioned to her that people could reasonably refer to her as Rebekah of Sunnybrook Socks.
But enough of this frivolity. Rebekah, or Mrs. Hill, was invariably kind, considerate, humorous, empathetic, and obviously competent as an RN, even when waking her patients from a sound sleep to administer a blood test or injection or check their blood pressure. I noticed that when Nurse Rebekah entered the room, the ambiance livened up a bit, even late at night. She would even locate me when I was out staring at the sky on the 3rd-floor patio so she could prick my finger or whatever procedure was called for at the moment.
I have no doubt Patrick Barnes would be pleased to honor Nurse Rebekah, and there's no doubt Rebekah will be a worthy honoree of Patrick's family's foundation. I say this while acknowledging that, with nary an exception, the whole crew of nurses, doctors, dining hall-personnel, and gym staffers during my stay were terrific and memorable in their own right.
