Rebekah never stopped doing what she needed to do as a nurse and continued lifesaving compressions to save this patient’s life.
Rebekah truly showed what it means to be a nurse, and why we do what we do as nurses. Our ultimate goal is to save a patient’s life, and Rebekah exemplified just that. Rebekah exemplifies what it means to be an Emergency Registered Nurse and to be ready for whatever may come through the doors or at the ER ramp.
A cardiac arrest patient was presented to the ER but was in cardiac arrest. The resuscitation to attempt to save this patient’s life needed to be started right then and there. Rebekah without any hesitation ran down the ramp and jumped on the stretcher to start compressions. Compressions can be a difficult task to begin with but having to ride on top of a stretcher with a patient I am sure was not an easy task. Rebekah continued to do compressions as the team was pushing the stretcher up the ramp and into the ER. During compressions, Rebekah was shocked not once but twice. She never stopped doing what she needed to do as a nurse and continued lifesaving compressions to save this patient’s life.
Rebekah went above and beyond and showed true heroism. With her determination and the help from her team their efforts were successful, and they were able to get a pulse back. Rebekah is extraordinary every day but especially this certain day.
