As she tended to me physically, emotionally, and spiritually, we bonded.
I was feeling horrible, not expecting the pain to be lingering, so I had to stay in the hospital. I had wonderful, caring nurses overnight and then Regina's shift. She saw me crying, feeling defeated. Her heart instantly opened wide. She encouraged me and made me feel safe and cared for. She helped me with all my needs constantly, especially inspiring me to think, "This takes time, and it will get better!" "It's ok to feel, cry." Regina tried to get my mind off of the pain, so we talked about how much we love our dogs and their personalities. The entire day, the pain meds didn't seem to work. Regina never gave up. She sent in a harpist, who played beautifully, Bocelli, which took my mind away from the pain temporarily. As she tended to me physically, emotionally, and spiritually, we bonded. So much in common, similarities with family and suffering with pain. Regina has a great smile and words to say. Her gift of kindness, great care, and big heart make her my lovely DAISY who brings pure sunshine...I will never forget Regina and continue to pray for her and the outstanding people on this floor, who helped in many ways.
