Regina is a kind and compassionate leader; in addition to her never-ending support for those she leads, she creates an environment for growth. She promotes the personal and professional growth of each member of her team.
Behind every celebrated and recognized employee is an unrecognized leader working in the background. These leaders are supporting, encouraging, and empowering others to accomplish goals they never believed they could. We would like to take the time to recognize and highlight our passionate and amazing Nurse Leader. Here are just a few ways Regina has empowered her team to grow and succeed:

R recently received a prestigious award while Regina stood there, completely surprised and honored. R kept thinking that this accomplishment would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of her manager and Senior Director Regina Krell. Regina has assisted in R’s growth from task-oriented quality nurse to understanding the bigger picture of long-term goals. She instills the confidence needed to move into a leadership role. Regina continuously works to collaborate with the disciplines across the UCHealth system to improve our trauma programs. She encourages staff to step out of their comfort zone and present on a national level, instead of presenting herself. She takes pride in providing these opportunities for her team to experience and grow in their profession. Regina is a kind and compassionate leader; in addition to her never-ending support for those she leads, she creates an environment for growth. She promotes the personal and professional growth of each member of her team.

Professionally, she seeks opportunities for staff to shine, often taking herself out of the spotlight. For leaders, this means providing financial support for those opportunities while being fiscally responsible to the organization which she serves. She provides constructive feedback that improved their communication skills. Her guidance created an environment where missed steps resulted in lessons learned that improved skills. Regina is remarkable at supporting and challenging her staff. She’s the ultimate cheerleader and devotes time and energy to listening to each person's goals and encouraging them to bring these goals to fruition. She models the behavior she wants to see in her team and continually demonstrates that no goal is unattainable.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have Regina as our leader. It is our honor to recognize Regina as an exceptional nurse leader who has significantly impacted her staff, organization, and community. Regina exemplifies the mission of UCHealth by improving lives through her passion, her loyalty, her encouragement, and, above all, her human connection.
